History

The Bedale Minibus Project was set up in 1992, and the first bus went on the road in February 1993. Originally managed from an office in Bedale Hall.

We were a sub committee of the Northallerton and District Voluntary Service Association (NDVSA) with an employed office manager and five volunteers as members of the sub committee.

Late in 2013, the Bedale sub committee felt that independence from the NDVSA would allow us to better develop the service we offered to the local communities.

With help from NDVSA, and in consultation with the Charities Commission, we became an independent Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) Charity No. 1158623.

We renamed the organisation “Bedale Community Minibus” in 2014, and moved into our present office accommodation at Oak House, North End, Bedale on 17th November 2014, just a stones throw away from our previous office, at Bedale Hall.
